Everybody is speaking English now because of me? You guys did not have to... I am very touched!
For those who understand this and take the time to read it:
I want to applaud you on the level of English that you demonstrate. I have to say I am very impressed: even though you said that your English skills may be a little rusty since you have not practiced it for a long time, your writing clearly show that you tried very hard and I still understood what you wrote word by word.
I am also trying my hardest to write in Chinese: I have forgotten pinyin so sometimes I have to do trial and error on my Chinese writing software. I absolutely fail when I have to decide which homonym (words with same sound, but different spelling and meaning) to use. My syntax and diction are at the level of a 6-year old. When I saw that many of my mistakes corrected, I feel very embarrassed. Nevertheless, I am happy that I get to in a sense relearn the nearly lost language. You know that they say, "losing your language is the first step to lose your culture." I do not want to lose my Chinese heritage, so I am going to keep on practicing Chinese. I hope you guys would continue to correct my posts and also try your best with the English language, which I think it's worth learning: it's not the international language for nothing!
And with that, yoroshiku onegaishimasu! |
