I could have done without the many, repeated scenes and flashbacks to Takumi's health problem resurfacing due to his growing distance from Gii...I think the movie centered around this too much and that's why it was full of more anxiety this time.
Of course, the ending scenes where Takumi and Gii are finally back together and manage to overcome the difficulties separating them made me very happy, and this brought a very nice conclusion to the movie that made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside yct64 Especially how in the final scenes of the movie Gii manages slowly, tenderly and bit by bit to make Takumi lose his fear.
But I believe they could have focused a bit more on other aspects and characters and not so much on Takumi's sickness resurfacing.
This doesn't mean the movie wasn't great. I feel it was better than the second movie even, since the actors were more familiar with each other and you could feel how much more mature Takumi's and Gii's relationship is, and how much closer they've come to each other. I just would have preferred to see Takumi and Gii together in more scenes, than seeing them distanced from each other in over half of the movie. But I guess that defeats the whole purpose of the movie's story xD |
